Integrated stitch regulation and expansive creative control
The BERNINA 790 ULTRA brings sewing, quilting and embroidery features together around a 10-inch working space and a 7-inch colour touchscreen. Its BERNINA Integrated Stitch Regulator, Jumbo Stitch function and on-screen design tools support detailed construction, free-motion quilting and expressive decorative work.
Stitch regulation built into the machine
The BERNINA Integrated Stitch Regulator (BISR) supports consistent stitch lengths across quilting applications, including ruler work. Use the included 5.5 mm BISR Stitch Plate with Sensor and a suitable quilting foot. BERNINA lists compatibility with its quilting feet and accessories, giving you flexibility to choose the foot for the technique.
Create a signature stitch
Jumbo Stitch resizes stitches from 25% to 500% for different decorative effects. Draw and refine stitches on the touchscreen with Stitch Designer, and use Sideways Motion for multi-directional sewing. Undo and redo let you refine your work on screen. The Pinpoint Laser shows the needle entry point before you sew.
Helpful setup and practical sewing controls
Automatic Stitch Plate Recognition identifies the three included sensor-enabled plates: 9 mm standard, straight stitch, and 5.5 mm BISR. The Automatic Needle Threader supports standard embroidery needles from size 70. Dual Feed assists fabric movement from above, and the front-loading Jumbo Bobbin supports longer sewing sessions. Sewing speed reaches 1,000 stitches per minute.
Advanced embroidery and computerized quilting
With an embroidery module fitted, use 2-, 3- and 4-Point Placement with Morphing to position designs. Crop quilt designs to a line or hoop boundary, connect designs into one layout, adjust stitches per inch, and save quilt projects as BQM files. Grouping, rearranging, text alignment and Shape Designer extend on-screen editing. WiFi supports optional Embroidery Software 9 design transfer and Stitchout App monitoring.
Guidance at the machine
The 7-inch touchscreen responds to drag, drop and swipe gestures and also accepts mouse navigation. The Help Center provides the manual, tutorials and Creative Consultant. Scan its on-screen QR code to continue viewing guidance on a smartphone or tablet.
