Flexible hems and carefully controlled coverstitching
The BERNINA L 620 brings dedicated coverstitch and chainstitch sewing to garment making. Create parallel rows of stitching for stretchy hems, use coverstitching as a decorative detail, or select the two-thread chainstitch for construction work. Seven stitches and independently adjustable settings give you room to tune the finish to your fabric and project.
A simpler start at the threading area
The illuminated One-Step BERNINA Air Threader threads the looper, while the built-in needle threader helps with the needles. The magnetic all-in-one looper cover opens up the setup area. A swing-out presser foot with Auto Swing Back gives you more direct access when changing needles or preparing the machine.
Guide the fabric with both hands
The Free Hand System knee lever raises or lowers the presser foot and simultaneously lowers the feed dog, helping you position and remove your work without letting go of it. The two-step presser-foot lift accommodates thicker or layered projects. With 120 mm to the right of the needles and the included slide-on table, there is useful support for larger garment pieces.
Choose the pace and the finish
The front speed slider sets your preferred pace, from careful stitch-by-stitch work up to 1,200 stitches per minute. Program the needle to stop up or down, or use the back-kick function on the BERNINA foot control to change its position. Differential feed helps manage stretchy fabric or create gathers, and the dimmable sewing light lets you adjust the illumination at the stitching area.
