Overlock finishing with comfortable threading and fabric control
The BERNINA L 660 trims, stitches and finishes fabric edges in one operation. Its 18 stitches, adjustable 3–9 mm overlock width and accessible controls suit garment construction and neat edge finishing. From initial threading to guiding the last section of a seam, its design keeps the settings and working area close at hand.
Illuminated air threading for the loopers
Prepare the thread path through the magnetic all-in-one looper cover, then use the illuminated One-Step BERNINA Air Threader for the looper threads. A built-in needle threader supports needle threading. The presser foot swings to the side for better access and returns with Auto Swing Back.
Adjust the seam to the material
Micro Thread Control (mtc) fine-tunes the amount of looper thread around the fabric edge. Stepless differential feed helps reduce waviness in elastic fabrics and puckering in fine materials, or lets you create deliberate gathering effects. Adjustable presser-foot pressure adds another way to suit thin or thick fabrics. The knife position sets the cutting width, and the knife can be engaged or disengaged from outside the machine.
Hands-free lifting and deliberate speed control
The Free Hand System knee lever raises or lowers the presser foot while lowering the feed dog, giving you freedom to position and remove the fabric with both hands. A two-step presser-foot lift helps with layered work. Set the front speed slider, program the needle stop, and use the foot control for stitch-by-stitch sewing or its back-kick needle-position function. The DC motor supports speeds up to 1,200 stitches per minute.
