The BERNINA L860 combines 18 overlock stitches with a centrally located colour touchscreen, air threading and a spacious free-arm sewing area. It supports garment construction, edge finishing, rolled hems and flatlock detail, with controls that help you adapt the seam to your fabric and thread.
Choose guided setup or direct adjustment
Use Guided Mode for step-by-step instructions or Expert Mode to apply settings directly. Selecting a stitch automatically sets thread tension, stitch length and differential feed. The Sewing Consultant, Stitch Optimizer and helpful animations provide guidance on screen, while individual adjustments remain available as the project develops. Save up to 100 stitch settings in Personal Memory for another sewing session.
Air-thread the loopers with your hands free
The One-Step BERNINA Air Threader carries looper threads through the machine with a press of the foot control. The L860 positions the loopers automatically for threading, removing the need to find the right position by turning the handwheel. One-path colour-coded routes and an integrated needle threader support the remaining setup steps.
Manage handling and pace comfortably
Raise or lower the presser foot with the Free Hand System knee lifter and keep your hands on the fabric. The foot swings out for access to the needles. Program needle stop up or down, and set minimum and maximum sewing speed on the touchscreen. Work stitch by stitch on a curve or sew at up to 1,500 stitches per minute when the project calls for a faster pace.
Tune the finish for the material
Thread tension, differential feed, stitch length and cutting width can be adjusted while sewing. Micro Thread Control (mtc) changes the amount of overedge thread, allowing you to refine the seam’s appearance. The free arm helps with closed items such as cuffs and sleeves; attach the included slide-on table when larger fabric pieces need extra support.
